(Chinese Language Program) of GTCFLA

1、Overview

Founded in 2001,Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign Languages and Arts (GTCFLA) is a public higher vocational college established by People’s Government of Guangdong Province. It is one of the Guangdong Model Higher Vocational Colleges and the Construction Organizations of the Provincial High-level Higher Vocational College Construction Plan.

Based in Guangzhou,we have six campuses, including Wushan, Yanling, Haizhu, Longdong, Tianpingjia and Huadu campuses, with an area of 45.1 hectares and a construction area of359,200square meters. It is currently home to 22,740 full-time students and 1,106 students in the adult education sector.

Focusing on areas such as education, culture and arts, business services and information technology,we offer 53 programs, with 7 program groups listed as the provincial high-level program groups in vocational college, namely Pre-school Education, Performing Arts, Business English, Jade Art and Design,Primary Education, Digital Media Technology and Modern Secretarial Studies.

Geared to the development of “the Belt and Road” and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, wehave established partnerships and conducted extensive cooperation with over 40 education institutions in countries like UK, the United States, Spain, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand.

2、About the Program

The Chinese Language Program is open to applicants with different levels of Chinese proficiency, which is divided into three levels: Beginner (HSK Level 1 or equivalent), Intermediate (HSK Level 2-3) and Advanced (HSK Level 4 or above).Conducted in small classes, the program provides intensive training in four core competencies: listening, speaking, reading and writing, supplemented by HSK tutoring and Chinese culture experience courses. It aims to comprehensively improve students' Chinese application ability and cross-cultural communication skills, enabling them to better use Chinese in study, work and daily life. Students who complete all required courses in accordance with regulations and pass the assessments will be awarded the Certificate of Completion of Chinese Language Training issued by Guangdong Teachers College of Foreign Languages and Arts.

3、Curriculum Design

（1）Compulsory Courses

Chinese Listening and Speaking, Chinese Reading and Writing, Comprehensive Chinese, Business Chinese, HSK Tutoring, etc.

（2）Chinese Culture Experience Courses

Chinese Calligraphy, Creative Paper Cutting, Chinese Tea Culture, Lingnan Culinary Culture, Sports Culture, etc.

There are 20 compulsory classes per week,with several sessions of Chinese culture experience courses and practical activities each semester.

4、Admission Time

The program enrolls students for autumn and spring semesters, with the admission time as follows:

Autumn Semester: September

Spring Semester: March

5、Admission Quota

The admission quota for each semester is determined based on the number of applicants and the actual running conditions of the college. Classes and corresponding courses will be set up according to the applicants' Chinese proficiency: Beginner (HSK Level 1 or equivalent), Intermediate (HSK Level 2-3) and Advanced (HSK Level 4 or above).

6、Scope of Enrollment

It is open to applicants from countries along "the Belt and Road", including Southeast Asia, Russia, Central Asia, etc.

7、Application Period

Admissions are open year-round until the admission quota is full.

8、Requirements and Application Process

（1）Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens who hold a valid foreign passport and meet the requirements set out in the Ministry of Education's Notice on Regulating the Work of Higher Education Institutions in Enrolling International Students (Jiao Wai Han〔2020〕No.12).

2. Applicants must be in good physical and mental health and meet the physical examination requirements for obtaining a student visa or residence permit for study in China. In principle, applicants should be between 18 and 30 years of age.

3.Applicants must have completed senior high school or higher education (or hold an equivalent academic qualification), for which they need to provide the graduation certificate and a complete academic transcript.

4.Applicants must demonstrate friendliness toward China, diligence in their studies, excellent academic performance, good moral character, and compliance with laws and regulations. They must have no record of school disciplinary violations, security penalties, or criminal offenses.

5.Applicants who are under 18 years old must submit a Guardian Commitment Letter.

（2）Application Process

(1) Following the instructions in the linked documents below, please download, complete, and compile the application form, then send it as a zip file to gwygjjy@gtcfla.edu.cn with the email subject “入学申请(Admission Application)”.

（2）Applicants with prior educational experience in China are required to submit additional documents such as transcripts, an attendance record (≥80% attendance rate), and a transfer proof, the specific requirements for which will be communicated via email.

（3）Applicants from certain countries are required to submit a "No Criminal Record Certificate" notarized by the Chinese embassy/consulate and a personal resume, as specified. The specific requirements will be notified via email.

（4）Applicants from certain countries are required to submit proof of financial capability as specified, with detailed requirements to be notified via email.

9、Document Review and Admission

In accordance with relevant laws and regulations, the college will conduct a preliminary admission review after receiving the application materials, and simultaneously apply for the "Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Coming to China" (JW202 Form) or the "Information Form for Short-term Foreign Students Coming to China" (DQ Form). The entire processing cycle takes approximately 3 weeks. After passing the review, applicants will receive an admission confirmation email from the college, and the college will issue the admission notice and JW202/DQ Form as needed. Applicants must apply for a student visa at the local Chinese embassy/consulate abroad with the admission notice and JW202/DQ Form, and complete the registration procedures at the college in accordance with the specified time.

10、Medical Examination

New students are required to submit a medical examination reportupon application.After enrollment, thecollege will guide students in scheduling a medical examination, and failure to meet the required health standards will result in the revocation of admission eligibility. If you have completed a medical examination overseas, you must bring the complete original medical examination certificate, which will take effect only after being verified by the Chinese health inspection and quarantine department.

11、Insurance

In accordance with the Ministry of Education's "Interim Regulations on the Purchase of Insurance for Foreign Students in Institutions of Higher Education", international students coming to China must purchase Group Comprehensive Insurance (covering Personal Accident Insurance, Medical Insurance for Personal Accidental Injuries, and Hospitalization Medical Insurance) in Chinese Mainland. Only after purchasing the insurance can they complete the admission registration procedures.

12、Fees and Payment

Tuition Fee: RMB 6,900/semester;

Insurance Fee: RMB 400/half-year;

Textbook Fee: RMB 300/semester;

Accommodation fee: RMB 600 per month for a double-occupancy room; RMB 400 per month for a triple-occupancy room. The final list of occupants will be determined by the college based on applicants' comprehensive profiles and application order.
