School of Information Technology was established in 2002 and has a provincial professional teaching team, 93% of whom are double-titled. Currently, it has one provincial exemplary vocational education program (the Modern Educational Technology Program), one provincial key program (the Digital Media Application Technology Program), and one provincial brand program (the Digital Media Application Technology Program). The Digital Media Technology Specialty Group is recognized as a high-level specialty group of vocational college in Guangdong Province.
The School boasts excellent training facilities and is one of the first pilot organizations of the “Guoyu Huayu VR World Laboratory Project”. It also possesses a national training base funded by the central government, a provincial vocational mobile digital media technology training base, a provincial vocational “cloud-network integration” training base, a provincial vocational “virtual reality” training base, and a provincial production-education integration training base for artificial intelligence education. By partnering with enterprises, the School has established 12 off-campus internship and training bases to meet the needs of teachers and students for internships and practical training.
Over the past five years, our teachers and students have won over 120 awards in various provincial and higher-level competitions, including the second prize in the 2018 “Challenge Cup - Rainbow Life” National Vocational College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the gold medal in the 12th “Challenge Cup” Guangdong College and University Students Entrepreneurship Competition, the first prize in the 7th National Education Simulation Software Competition, the special prize in the 14th Guangdong Provincial College and University Students’ Extracurricular Science and Technology Works Competition, and the special prize in the 3rd “Challenge Cup - Rainbow Life” Guangdong Provincial Vocational College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. In the past three years, the graduates’ overall employment rate has reached 100%, and their starting salaries have been significantly higher than the average level of that of vocational college graduates in the province.
